Narnia

Those of you who know me know that I am crazy about Narnia.
The author of the books, C.S Lewis, was a Christian and he intertwined his faith into his books. If you look closely many parts of the Narnia series are scenes from the Bible.  For example, In the Bible Jesus was Crucified in our place as punishment for our sins. In the same way Aslan gave up his life for Edmund's sins.  Not only that, but as in the Bible,  Jesus rises from the dead on the third day making a way for us to have eternal life.  Aslan rises from the dead and death it self cannot hold him. The Veil was torn when Jesus died, the Stone Table cracked when Aslan rose from the dead. There are many simalarities throught the series and lessons to be learned.

Most books these days are gruesome and put awful images into teen and adult minds alike. Where as Narnia, while it does have battles, is Pure, True and Noble. Sound familair? "Whatever is True, whatever is Noble, whatever Right, whatever is Pure, whatever is Lovely, whatever is Admirable, Think on these Things." Philippians 4:8

If you have not read these books I would suggest reading them. If you have seen the movies but not read the book, try reading them. You will be pleasently surprised with a whole new Voyage of the Dawn Treader without green mist, or jealousy.

If you have read the books tell me who your favorite character is or which one is your favorite book.
